Embroidered Stars

Fashioned from a jumper that never made it to anyone's back it was so dismal, these five pointers are simply cut from the felted fabric, embroidered and blanket stitched, stuffed and hung! Nice save and turns a failure right round.

Button Stars

These are too simple for words. From felted fabric cut triangles. Align the triangles over each other to form six pointed stars. Using a button for each side, stitch through both pieces of the star fixing the buttons in place. Add a thread to hang. Make them as funky, glamorous, homespun as you like. Felted fabric does not unravel, whether knitted or crocheted, so there is no need to edge these stars though you can if you like.

Petite Bathing Cloth

If you love to give fragarant, evocative bath soaps to friends it always seems a shame that they have to use their terry towelling (invariably old) washers as accompaniments. French soap and a generic face cloth just don't do it for anyone. Try these little guys. Simple to knit and create a sense of achievment as you see a little pile of them grow beside you. These examples knitted in DK Cotton "Calico" but there are 32 other delicious Jo Sharp shades to chose from.

This example knitted in Aran Tweed but other similar weight yarn works just as well. Was May 2007 Pattern of the Month to all Thicket Members. This example knitted in Jo Sharp Aran Tweed Bark.
