Unforgettable

Classic, timeless jacket designed especially and exclusively for Thicket by Last Bus Designs. This garment was also concepted using Shetland's Spindrift 8 ply for it's longevity and ability to look good year after year. It pills and balls minimally and bounces back to shape after every laundering. Ideal for outer garments this yarn evokes the heathered hillsides it hales from and is as warm as it is light to wear.

Small - 16 balls Shetland Spindrift 8 ply, Medium - 18 balls, Large - 20 balls.

Long Emerald Jacket

From Jo Sharp's Knit Issue 2 this coat has been knitted in DK Tweed "Emeral" and given a wintry feel in contrast to the summer bathing scene on pages 46/7 of Knit 2. And the girls at Thicket are proof that you don't have to have that perfect body for this jacket to look sensational. If you knit one for yourself be prepared to have women try and rip it from your back in lusty envy!! IT'S THAT GOOD!!!

True North

This is the first of Thicket's complimentary, seasonally inspired patterns to be emailed to all Thicket Members in March 2008.

Made here in Shetland's wonderfully light, wonderfully warm wool in "Peat" the vest features deep moss stitch borders on the hemline and neat, narrow moss stitch around neck and sleeve edges to make a simple but effective finish. Shaped through the back this long line vest fits sizes 8 - 14, can be worn a multitude of ways and is simple enough for newer knitters to try. No button holes, no bands, no picking up of stitches around neck and sleeve edges. Depending on how you accessorise, this garment will be one of your best wardrobe friends for years.

Jamieson's Shetland will be available in 7 shades from Mid March 2008.

Pattern available in Products.

Simple Sweater in Child's size

From Jo Sharp's Publication "Family" we have knitted the child's version of the Simple Sweater in Aran Tweed rather than Aran Cotton as the pattern calls for. This version knitted in Spain with stripes added in on cuffs and bands in Enamel.

This version took 7 balls of Spain and 1 ball of Enamel. Would look terrific in Posie with Bark as accent.

Box Stitch Jacket

For those who remember Jo Sharp's "Contemporary Knitting No 1", this jacket pattern from "Eclectic" is a re-working of the Long Box Stitch jacket from that first publication. A reinterpretation of classic Chanel styling, this jacket has been made here in yarn from the Shetland Islands - this shade "Purple Heather". Remarkably light to wear, this jacket is also remarkable as the photos are taken a year after it was completed and worn continuously for the Autumn, Winter and Spring of that year. And it still looks as if it were completed today. Not only will this design stand the test of time, so will the yarn. You will probably wear out long before it will!!!

Jamieson's Shetland Yarn in seven shades will be available from Thicket from Mid-March 2008.

"Eclectic" by Jo Sharp available now.

Peat Long Jacket

Using the same pattern from Jo Sharp's Knit Issue 2 (see Long Emerald Jacket below) this version has been made in Jamieson's Shetland "Peat". Luscious and richly earthy this classic Shetland shade creates a jacket for all seasons that is light to wear yet incredibly warm. This jacket looks as classy with a pair of jeans as it does over a tailored skirts and boots.

Shetland "Peat" available now. Knit Issue 2 available now.
